Lead Researcher for Swiss Program for Research on Global Issues for Development (r4d.ch)-funded research project on curbing commodity trade-related illicit financial flows from resource-rich developing countries.

Recent Updates:
March 2022: Hosted ~50 academics, parliamentarians & policy advisors for 2 days of debates between research-policy interface, scientific presentations and documentary film screenings. Scientific program here.
December 2022: New grant from the r4d.ch programme of the Swiss National Science Foundation (Chf 75,000) – announcement coming soon for major academic conference on sustainable development research in Laos.
December 2022: New Special Issue of International Economics on Financing for Development published, featuring my article Abnormal Pricing in International Commodity Trade: Empirical Evidence from Ghana (with Ama Ahene-Codjoe and Angela Alu at the University of Ghana)
November 2022: New article titled, A Renewed Neocolonial Scramble for Resources? (with Gilles Carbonnier) published by Global Challenges, Issue No. 12 on Weaponization of Economics
September 2022: After vigorous debate, a majority of Swiss National Council (parliament) members vote to adopt Foreign Affairs Committee proposal based on my research for the Federal Council (executive) to issue a policy report on improving transparency of international financial flows into Switzerland
August 2022: New publication at International Trade Journal titled, Abnormal Pricing in International Commodity Trade: Evidence from Lao P.D.R. (with Vanxay Sayavong and Vanthana Nolintha)
May 2022: On 20th May, I am hosting a multi-stakeholder workshop on North-South Research Partnerships with exciting speakers from Ghana, Laos and Switzerland, included in the 2022 Annual Conference program of the Swiss Commission for Research Partnerships with Developing Countries (KFPE) and swissuniversities Development and Cooperation Network (SUDAC)
